What to Expect

We'll start the visit by asking some general questions about your health. These include details of your family health history, information about any medications you're taking, and information about your menstrual cycle. This information helps us provide you with sound medical care and information. It also enables us to accurately determine the new baby's due date.


Next, we'll do an ultrasound test to determine the age of the fetus and its viability. About 10-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and every expecting mother should know if the baby in the womb is growing properly [1].


We'll also check for potentially dangerous medical complications such as an ectopic pregnancy. A fetus growing outside the uterus can cause life-threatening complications for the mother, so we'll refer you for immediate medical treatment if the test detects this condition.

We also have a Moms Helping Moms support group where you can find friendship, help, and support.
