Pregnancy Referrals

Pregnancy Care Clinic offers a range of free medical services for women who are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant. Our pregnancy referral process enables women of all ages and walks of life to receive the care, support, and treatment they need and deserve.

Network of Trusted Pregnancy Specialists

If the pregnancy is healthy, and you intend to keep the baby, we can refer you to one of our trusted counselors who can help you plan for the upcoming birth. We can also help you talk with your partner about the pregnancy and what it entails for both of you. If you aren’t sure about keeping the baby, we can provide information about adoption and abortion. However, we do not offer referrals to abortion clinics.

We also encourage all women who come to our clinic to take advantage of our free STI testing services. The CDC estimates that 20% of women have an STI.[2] Some women don’t have symptoms. However, even an asymptomatic STI can endanger an unborn baby’s health and well-being. Women who plan on having an abortion also need STI testing, as having an abortion with an untreated STI could cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). This condition can cause blood infections, abscesses, or even infertility. If your STI tests come back positive, we will refer you to a medical professional who can provide the medication you need to clear up the condition.

Seamless Pregnancy Referral Process

We offer a free, limited ultrasound, so you can calculate the date of conception and the due date. The ultrasound also shows if the pregnancy is viable. Up to 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and more than 80% of these occur in the first three months of pregnancy.[1] Furthermore, an ultrasound will also show if the pregnancy is ectopic. Ectopic pregnancies require immediate medical care to protect the life and health of the mother.

After the ultrasound, we’ll discuss your options. At this point, we offer referrals, so you can access comprehensive medical care that meets your needs.

Timely Referrals

If the ultrasound shows the pregnancy isn’t viable, we’ll provide an immediate medical referral for further diagnosis and treatment. Some women miscarry without medical help. Others may need medication or other forms of treatment to remove the remaining fetal tissue from the uterus.[3] It’s important to seek medical help for a non-viable pregnancy even if you do not feel pain or discomfort.

We also provide an immediate medical referral to women who have an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies are pregnancies that occur outside the uterus. They are never viable, and they put the mother’s life at risk. A qualified medical professional will remove the fetus by using medication, surgery, or both.[4]
