Free Pregnancy Testing

While an at-home pregnancy test can show if a woman is pregnant or not, it cannot show the gestational age of the fetus, provide information on the viability of the pregnancy, or show potential complications that would need immediate medical treatment. Women who experience pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, cravings, mood swings, and/or a missed period should get an ultrasound to find out as much as possible about the possible pregnancy.

Our team of licensed medical professionals offers free ultrasound testing that shows the age of the fetus and spots complications that may require referral to a specialist. Furthermore, an ultrasound can show if the pregnancy is viable. Up to 15% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and a miscarriage is more likely to occur in the first trimester than in the second or third trimesters.[1]

Support Classes

Our health center offers several support classes to help pregnant mothers learn how to care for a new life while they study or maintain a career. Our classes include childbirth education, parenting classes, and a moms helping moms support group to provide mothers with the emotional support they need to care for their new little one. We also offer an after-abortion healing Bible study as studies show that having an abortion increases a woman’s risk of anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.[2]

Other Services We Offer

The Women’s Health Center in La Mesa offers free STI testing for sexually-transmitted diseases such as Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Trichomonas, and Syphilis. Women who test positive for an STI are referred for medical treatment as an STI can cause complications during an abortion or childbirth.

Additionally, we offer a free health provider consultation, emotional support, natural family planning information, and maternity clothes to women in need. All our services are confidential; since we do not accept payment, not even a woman’s health insurance company is informed about the results of tests done at our center.

Pregnancy is challenging even under ideal circumstances.
